The objective of the Elemental Analysis Laboratory is to determine carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus in suspended material and carbon, nitrogen and sulfur in marine sediment samples.

Laboratory equipment consists of Thermo Scientific’s Flash 2000 Elemental Analyzer, a Mettler Toledo analytical balance (max 2.1g, d-0.1 µg) and a drying oven.

The elemental analysis laboratory follows daily quality control and quality assurance protocols using certified reference materials.
