PRO-RES (PROmoting integrity in the use of RESearch results in evidence based policy: a focus on non-medical research, under the EC H2020 call SwafS-21-2017). The main objective of PRO-RES project is to build a research ethics and integrity framework devised cooperatively with, and seen as acceptable by, the full range of relevant stakeholders. Its framework will be ‘staged’ starting with a simple introductory level of ‘basic principles’ leading to more explanatory/background levels and ultimately more complex aids for decision-making at later stages.
The means for ensuring coverage of the key concerns of all stakeholders will be via a series of interdisciplinary and international focus groups – some virtual and others face-to-face. In that frame, HCMR due its active involvement in the formulation of policy (being coordinator of the projects IRIS-SES, ActionMed, MEDCIS and MEDREGRION and main partner in BLUEMED) and since marine environment is a very active arena for issues regarding integrity and ethics of policy advisors, is one of the main partners running the consultation process regarding environmental policy issues (several thematic workshops are envisaged for the communities to provide feedback for the framework, environment being one of the critical themes).
The project is coordinated by the European Science Foundation.
