Marine litter, macro- and micro-plastics in seawater and sediments
Plastics and microplastics is a pollution problem of global concern. Research at the Marine Chemistry Department is carried out around three axes: Protocols development; assessing quantities in the Greek marine environment; understanding microplastics interactions with the natural functioning of the ecosystems.
