EuroSea/OceanPredict Workshop on Ocean Prediction and Observing System Design , 29 June – 1 July

The workshop will linkEuroSea with the international activities of OceanPredict in support of connecting, exploring and advancing observation and ocean prediction efforts in a global context. The event will provide an opportunity to gather representatives from the global ocean observation and prediction communities to exchange on issues, progress and future outlook on ocean prediction and observing system design.

Registration and abstract submission

Registration and abstract submission for the EuroSea/OceanPredict workshop is now open.

The abstract submission deadline is 20 April 2022, while registration closes on 31 May 2022.

Both can be done through the same form.

Sessions

The EuroSea/OceanPredict Workshop on Ocean Prediction and Observing System Design is now inviting submissions of abstracts for one or more of the four workshop sessions:

Session 1: OSEs & OSSEs in support of observing system design

Session 2: Extreme marine events – observing, modelling, forecasting and user accessibility

Session 3: Coastal Ocean: Modelling, observing system design and product utility

Session 4: EuroSea & OceanPredict – in support of the UN Ocean Decade

Abstracts

A max of two abstracts can be submitted for either oral and poster presentations.

Event location and set up

The workshop will take place at the Met Office, Exeter, UK from 29th June – 1st July 2022, and is planned as an in-person / hybrid event.

We encourage everyone to consider travelling to the workshop location to enjoy direct interaction with other attendees, but will provide options for those unable to travel to take part remotely (also presenters).
