From October 31 to November 4, 2022 the workshop Ecological Applications of Biomarkers in Zooplankton (BioZoo) was successfully held at ELKETHE Anavyssos.

The specific workshop was addressed to young scientists (doctoral and postdoctoral) who had the opportunity to participate in lectures, lab sampling analysis and data analysis with the subject of the combined use of different biomarkers in zooplankton ecology studies.

The main objective of the workshop was to standardize the methodologies used to determine specific biomarkers such as ETS, AARS, Oxidative stress, Isotopes, Fatty acids, to create collaborations and contacts for their future career as well as to spread knowledge of the project to the wider scientific community.

The participants’ comments gave great pleasure to the workshop organizers, who, according to the questionnaires they filled in, described the guidance they received as excellent, the program perfectly structured both theoretically and practically, and congratulated the speakers and the organizing team, hoping more researchers to experience similar workshops in the future.
