KONSTANTINOS SARANTAKOS holds a degree (B.Sc.) on Agronomy, acquired from the Agricultural University of Athens and a M.Sc. degree in Environmental Management and Policy, from the University of the Aegean. He is employed in HCMR, since 2002. During that time, he has been involved in several National and European competitive R&I projects concerning sustainable water resources management, groundwater pollution, protection of riparian vegetation, land uses management, marine litter/ microplastics, cold ironing and the promotion of marine renewable energy resources. He has participated in several stakeholder events and has been actively involved in clustering greek SMEs in the Blue Energy sector, through PELAGOS MEDProject. Within the context of CLAIM Project, he is dedicated to the innovation promotion to the society. His current research and innovation interests include: market/ non-market valuation of environmental resources, integrated management of water resources, GIS and remote sensing applications in water and coastal zone management, with a special focus on coastal tourism sector and finally innovation in relation to marine litter reduction and project management for new sensors development and market penetration.
