6 projects. He holds a PhD in Oceanography (1990) from the Aristotle University of
Thessaloniki, after his MSc in Oceanography (1988) and BSc in Mathematics from the
National & Kapodistrian University of Athens.

He has been involved in many significant projects as Coordinator (CLAIM-H2020) and as PI

ecological models, data assimilation and operational marine ecosystems modelling, marine
ecosystem management, marine pollutant models (oil spills and marine litter prediction and
prevention), nonlinear prediction, climate change, development, application of individual
based models (IBM) for small pelagic fish (anchovy and sardine), and aquaculture modelling.
