ELENI ROUSELAKI
Position: Technical Scientist Under Contract
Expertise: Chemist
Department: Marine Chemistry
Premises: athens
Eleni Rousselaki is a technical scientist at the Institute of Oceanography of the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research, Greece. She holds a BSc in Chemistry and an MSc in Chemical Oceanography from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She is PhD candidate in the Chemistry Department, at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Her research activities involve field work for seawater sampling, laboratory analysis for nutrients and dissolved oxygen determination, application of indexes for estimating the trophic status of coastal waters, statistical analysis of data and participation in writing reports and papers. Her research interests are mainly focused on chemical processes in the water column of marine environments (nutrient dynamics); eutrophication; assessment of the water quality and trophic status of coastal marine ecosystems. Her PhD is focused on the Biogeochemical processes and fluxes of nutrients and other ions across the sediment – water interface, at coastal, pelagic and extreme marine environments. Since 2009 she has been involved in many national and European research projects (e.g. WFD, LEVECO, PERSEUS, Saronikos Gulf monitoring) and has participated in a large number of field sampling campaigns in both coastal environments and open sea sites.
