Dr. Evi Bourma holds a Ph.D in Ocean Engineering (2010) from National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), a M.Sc in Marine Technology and Science (2005) from the same institution and a B.Sc in Physics (2002) from University of Athens. She is a postdoctoral fellow in Oceanography Institute. She has been involved in scientific projects since 2012 – MEDESS4MS, FixO3, BigDataOcean, HIMIOFOTS – regarding oil spill modeling and applications of the POSEIDON OSM (OilSpillModel), as well as underwater glider operations and their scientific implementations in oceanographic research. She is leading the glider team of the Operational Oceanography Division.

During the period 2005 to 2011, she has been working as a research associate in the Marine Structures Division, School of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, NTUA. 

She participated in two scientific projects regarding offshore hydrodynamics, wind and current loads on offshore floating structures and ships, coupled dynamics of interconnected floating structures, static and dynamic analysis of mooring line systems, as well as hydrodynamic motion analysis and design of underwater gliders, their control and navigation strategies.
