Studied Marine Sciences at the University of Aegean and with postgraduate studies in “Oceanography and Management of the Marine Environment” of the NKUA University, from 2015 until today Mr. Livanos works at the Hellenic Center For Marine Research in the geophysics department. Mr. Livanos operates the multibeam bathymetric systems (ELAC SeaBeam 2120, ELAC SeaBeam 1180, RESON SeaBat 7125) of the HCMR research vessels (Aegaeo and Alcyon) as well as the subbottom profiling systems (Airgun, Boomer, 3.5 Khz) and side scan sonars of the institute, while systematically dealing with the processing, correction and analysis of bathymetric data as well as backscatter data. 

His participation in oceanographic missions in the Aegean, Black sea and the Atlantic Ocean, and his publications in international scientific journals is proof of his excellence in his field. At the same time, he continues his studies in the field of satellite oceanography and coastal bathymetry with a PhD at the department of Geography of the Harokopeio University.
