Polytimi Ioli Lardi is a research assistant at the Institute of Oceanography of the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research, Greece. Since 2015 she has been involved in national and European research projects (e.g. WFD, KELTH-KELPS, KIFISOS). 

Her research activities involve field work for observing and selectively collecting phytobenthic organisms (macro-algae and seagrasses) via snorkeling and scuba diving, laboratory analysis and taxonomy of samples, application of indexes for estimating the ecological quality of coastal waters, statistical analysis of data and participation in writing reports and papers.  

Her research interests lie in algal communities, coastal ecology and understanding, protecting and restoring marine ecosystems. 

She holds an MSc in Biological Oceanography from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and a BSc in Marine Sciences from the University of Aegean. She is PhD candidate in Marine Sciences, at the University of Aegean.
