Mrs Flora Karathanasi is a Rural & Surveying engineer with MSc in Marine & Ocean Technology & Science (2013) from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Greece. She is a PhD candidate at the Department of Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering (NTUA), working on her thesis entitled “Probabilistic modelling of linear and directional wind and wave data with applications to the marine environment”. 

She has considerable research experience, working at the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR) since 2014. She has participated in 8 European and National funded research projects mainly related with assessment studies of marine renewable energy resources (including offshore wind, waves and currents) in the Mediterranean Sea and numerical wave modelling. 

She has co-authored 13 papers in peer-reviewed international journals and has 9 contributions in scientific conferences.
