MELTEMI is active in the Educational sector!

Through MELTEMI@ School action, students from two school in each cooperating country get informed via education seminars in marine litter reduction.

More than that, students get actively involved in marine litter assessments!

Marine Litter Status

Marine Litter status will be assessed in the four countries (Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Albania) in terms of abundance, typology, identification of sources, top items through a series (4-6) of field trips, using the EEA smartphone application “Marine Litter Watch” (MLW) and state of the art air surveillance techniques (drones) for coastal stranded litter assessment as well as in shallow water (ROV and divers), based on the EC-MSFD guidelines in a harmonized approach.
